The textured scales finally seat flush against the frame thanks to the updated shape, and the 0.1875" steel still feels plenty stout for batoning. Fit and finish are spot on out of the box.

The extra heft from the thicker frame is noticeable right away, but it balances the blade so well in hand that I don’t mind. That 0.1875" steel width feels seriously solid during hard use, and the new textured scales give a secure grip even when my palms get sweaty.

The frame update suits the textured scales perfectly—they sit flush now with zero hot spots. It’s noticeably bulkier than the old skeletonized version, but that’s a fair trade for the grip. Came sharp out of the box and locks into my hand like a glove.
